On 30th July 2024, the Orientation Programme of National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit Nos. 159 and 160 was held at the Main Seminar Hall of Sri S. Ramasamy Naidu Memorial College. The aim was to introduce new volunteers to the essence of NSS, their roles, and the importance of their contribution to community service.
The event began with an inauguration session presided over by Dr. R. Ramanujam, Associate Professor of History, and Dr. S. Saravanakumar, Assistant Professor of Mathematics. The chief guests emphasised the critical role of volunteers in national development and the profound impact of community service.

The orientation included a comprehensive presentation by Dr. S. Nagaraj, the NSS Programme Officer of Unit No. 160, who outlined the history, mission, and objectives of NSS. The session highlighted the core values of NSS, such as commitment to social service and personal development, and explained how volunteers contribute to the overall goal of community upliftment.
