The PG and Department of Chemistry at Sri S. Ramasamy Naidu Memorial College successfully hosted an online guest lecture program on “Bio-Based Polymers: Current and Future Perspectives” by Dr. Siva Ponnupandian, Research Fellow, School of Chemistry, CRANN Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. The event aimed to provide insights for the students and faculty on the latest developments in bio-based polymers and their applications.
The inaugural session of the Guest lecture commenced with the welcome address by Dr. L. Kannammal, Head of the Department of Chemistry (PG), Sri S. Ramasamy Naidu Memorial College. She highlighted the relevance and importance of bio-polymers in everyday life and also encouraged students to embrace the vast opportunities available in scientific research and exploration in the field of bio-polymer.

Dr. Siva Ponnupandian delivered an engaging and informative lecture, covering topics such as biodegradable polymers, sustainable materials and future perspectives in the field. His insights were particularly motivating the students, sparking an interest in pursuing the research in the field of bio-polymers and their application.
