Navigating PCOS – Empowering Women with Knowledge

As part of its ongoing Extension Activities, Sri S. Ramasamy Naidu Memorial College, Sattur, organised an informative session titled “Navigating PCOS: Empowering Women with Knowledge” on 25th September 2024 at 3:00 p.m. The session aimed at spreading awareness about Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and empowering women to manage this condition with knowledge.

The guest speaker for the event was Dr. Krishnaveni R, a Gynaecologist from Aravind Krishna Hospital, Sattur. Dr. Krishnaveni provided valuable insights into PCOS, covering its causes, symptoms, and management strategies. She emphasised the importance of early detection, lifestyle modification and medical intervention to help women navigate this common yet complex health condition.

The event was inaugurated by Lt Dr B. Ajantha, Dean of Internal Affairs and Extension Activities, who highlighted the significance of addressing women’s health issues in academic and community settings. Dr P. Rajaguru, Principal of the college, also presided over the event, stressing the importance of empowering women with knowledge about their health.

The session was well-received by attendees, including students, faculty, and community members, who actively participated in the discussion, asking questions and seeking advice from the expert. The event succeeded in raising awareness and providing practical guidance for women on managing PCOS. This extension activity reflects the college’s commitment to community health and education, addressing significant health issues while promoting overall well-being among women.
