Event Overview:*
Sri S. Ramasamy Naidu Memorial College (SRNMC), Sattur, and Rajapalayam Raju’s College, Rajapalayam, in collaboration with the Virudhunagar District Administration organized a State Level Historical Seminar on “Multifaceted Research Perspectives of Dr. A.R. Venkatachalapthy on V.O.C.” The event took place on 19 July 2024 at the Mini Auditorium, SRNMC, Sattur.

Purpose and Significance:*
The seminar aimed to honour the legacy of V.O.C through the extensive research of Dr. A.R. Venkatachalapthy. Despite the plethora of historical research on V.O.C, Dr. Venkatachalapthy’s work has stood out for its depth and breadth over the last five decades. The seminar provided a vital platform for academicians, scholars, and historians to discuss and interact on this subject.

Keynote Addresses and Dignitaries:*
The event was presided over by Dr. V.P. Jeyaseelan, District Collector of Virudhunagar, who delivered the Presidential Address. The Felicitation Addresses were given by Dr. P. Rajaguru, Principal of SRNMC, and Dr. K. Ramesh Kumar, Principal of Rajapalayam Raju’s College.

The seminar began with a welcome address by Dr. S. Brindha Uma Maheshwari, Head of the Department of History, and concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. R. Revathi, Assistant Professor of History.

Participation and Outcomes:*
The seminar saw the attendance of approximately 200 participants from various institutions. The event featured the presentation of 20 scholarly research papers, facilitating a comprehensive exploration of Dr. A.R. Venkatachalapthy’s research on V.O.C. Attendees found the seminar highly enriching, gaining significant insights into the multifaceted aspects of the research.
