The Physics Association of the College organized “MANICKAVASAGAM – SANKARAVADIVU MEMORIAL ANNUAL LECTURE – VII” on December 11, 2024. The event was held in the New Seminar Hall at 11:00 A.M.
The programme began with a prayer song performed by Ms. G. Sakthi and
Mrs. R. Pramothini, II M. Sc., Physics students. Their performance showcased their vocal talent and set the tone for an engaging event. Next, Ms. K. S. Renuga sree, II M. Sc., Physics, delivered a welcome address. Her speech was well-received by the audience and provided a brief overview of the importance of science and technology in our daily lives.
Dr. P. Sundara Venkatesh, Assistant Professor & Head of the Department of Physics, then presented a presidential address. His speech highlighted the significance of the event and emphasized the need for students to embrace science and technology.
Following this, Dr. K. Thilaga, Assistant Professor of Physics, introduced the Chief Guest for the event. Her introduction provided valuable insights into the Chief Guest’s background and expertise in physics.
The highlight of the event was the address delivered by Dr. B. Santoshkumar, Associate Professor from Sri Paramakalyani College, Alwarkurichi. His talk on “Enthralling Electromagnetic theory” was informative and engaging, providing valuable information about electromagnetic phenomena.
After the Chief Guest’s speech, Ms. S. Kanagarani, III B.Sc., Physics, proposed a vote of thanks. Her speech acknowledged the efforts of the organizers and expressed gratitude to all participants for their contributions.
The event concluded with a rendition of the national anthem by all present, marking a poignant end to an engaging day.
The annual lecture was attended by students from UG and PG Departments of Physics. The event provided valuable insights into science and technology, inspiring young minds to embrace the subject.
