The National Service Scheme (NSS) conducted a “Swachhata Hi Seva” cleaning camp in Sattur on 24 September 2024. The primary objective of this initiative was to promote cleanliness and hygiene under the nationwide cleanliness campaign. The NSS volunteers took the lead in cleaning the temple area, which holds cultural and spiritual significance to the local community.

Under the guidance of the NSS Programme Officers, Dr. Nithya and Dr. Abirami, the volunteers enthusiastically participated in various cleaning activities. The volunteers worked systematically to clear litter, sweep the temple premises, and ensure the surrounding areas were free of waste materials. Their efforts contributed not only to the cleanliness of the temple but also promoted environmental awareness and community service values.
The event was appreciated by local residents, who expressed their gratitude for the volunteers’ dedication and commitment. Such initiatives play a pivotal role in instilling a sense of responsibility towards maintaining public spaces and fostering a culture of cleanliness among citizens.

The NSS Cleaning Camp was a success, reflecting the ethos of Swachhata Hi Seva, and encouraging students’ continued involvement in social and environmental service.
