The Department of Chemistry successfully organized an exciting one-day intra-collegiate competition, ENVIRON – FEST (2K24), on 09.08.2024. The event was dedicated to raising awareness about environmental issues and fostering a spirit of creativity and responsibility among students.
Quiz Competition:
Topic: Environmental Science: The quiz tested participants’ knowledge on various aspects of environmental science, including pollution, conservation, and climate change. Teams competed with enthusiasm, showcasing their understanding of critical environmental issues.
Rangoli Competition:
Topic: Global Warming Participants expressed their creativity through intricate and colorful rangoli designs, focusing on the theme of global warming. The artwork depicted the impact of global warming on our planet, highlighting the urgent need for action.
3. Essay Writing Competition:
Topic: Strategies for Sustainable Environmental Protection (in Tamil or English) Students penned thoughtful essays discussing various strategies for protecting the environment sustainably. The competition encouraged participants to propose innovative solutions to contemporary environmental challenges.
4. Drawing Competition:
Topic: Nature’s Call: The Battle Against Air Pollution and Its Effects on Urban Environments Budding artists portrayed the grave issue of air pollution and its devastating effects on urban environments through their drawings. The artwork emphasized the importance of combating air pollution to protect both nature and human health.
5. Elocution Competition:
Topic: Strategies for Sustainable Environmental Protection (in Tamil or English)
Participants delivered powerful speeches on sustainable environmental protection strategies. The competition allowed students to articulate their views on environmental conservation and inspire their peers to take action.
6. Slogan Writing Competition:
Topics: – Safe Nature from Pollution (in Tamil or English) – மாசுபாட்டிலிருந்து பாதுகாப்பான இயற்கை
The slogan writing competition invited participants to create impactful and memorable slogans on the theme of pollution prevention. The slogans, written in both Tamil and English, captured the essence of environmental protection.
7. Poem Writing Competition:

8. Drama Competition: The drama competition was the highlight of the day, where students presented short plays focusing on various environmental issues. The performances were engaging and thought-provoking, leaving a lasting impact on the audience.
The ENVIRON – FEST (2K24) was a resounding success, with active participation from students from different disciplines. The event not only provided a platform for students to showcase their talents but also emphasized the importance of environmental awareness and sustainable practices. The Department of Chemistry at Sri SRNMC plans to make this an annual event, furthering the cause of environmental protection and sustainability.
