The Department of Physics, Sri S. Ramasamy Naidu Memorial College organized a “One Day Workshop on Tips for Competitive Exams – IIT JAM” under the DBT Star College Scheme on 13th February 2025. The workshop aimed to equip students with valuable strategies and insights for tackling competitive exams. Dr. C. RajaMohan, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, The Gandhigram Rural Institute, Dindigul, served as the resource person for the program.
The session began with a prayer song by Ms. K. Renuga Shree and Ms. R. Pramothini, II M.Sc. Physics, invoking divine blessings. Ms. S. Yamuna, II M.Sc. Physics extended a warm welcome to the gathering. Dr. P. Sundara Venkatesh, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Physics, delivered an inspiring presidential address. Dr. K. Thilaga, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, introduced the esteemed speaker to the audience.
Dr. RajaMohan’s first session, titled “Coffee with Physics” was a unique and engaging approach to explaining thermodynamic concepts. With a cup of coffee, he delved into key principles such as convection, radiation, conduction, and Newton’s law of cooling. His interactive presentation captured the attention of the participants and led to meaningful discussions.
In the second session, Dr. RajaMohan focused on problem-solving techniques commonly encountered in competitive exams. He provided practical tips and strategies to solve problems. Additionally, he shared a well-structured roadmap for preparing for competitive exams. The workshop fostered an atmosphere of lively discussion and knowledge exchange. Ms. Anitha, III B.Sc. Physics, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the resource person and all those involved in organizing the event. The program concluded with the national anthem.
