An invited lecture on “Fuzzy Graph and its Applications” was organized by the PG and Research Department of Mathematics, Sri S. Ramasamy Naidu Memorial College, Sattur on 18 September, 2024 at new seminar hall.
The resource person, Dr. M. Saravanan, Assistant Professor of Mathematics and Controller of Examinations, Mannar Thirumalai Naicker College Madurai, was introduced by Dr. S.P. Nirmala Devi, who also greeted the attendees to the opening session.

A brief discussion on fuzzy graph theory was given during the guest lecture. This field of study models uncertain and ambiguous real-world systems using fuzzy sets and graph theory. He gave an explanation of the recent surge in fuzzy graph research, which forms the foundation of any network. Additionally, he made note of the crisp graphs’ inadequacy in capturing parameter uncertainty. In terms of structure, the crisp graph and fuzzy graph are comparable. However, the fuzzy graph assumes a different significance when there is uncertainty on any of the vertices or edges. Fuzzy graphs are used in networking, data mining, picture segmentation, clustering and communication.

The DBT Coordinator of the Mathematics Department and Assistant Professor of Mathematics, Dr. R. Revathy, thanked everyone in presence as well as everyone who had assisted achieve the program a success.
