Sri S. Ramasamy Naidu Memorial College, Sattur, hosted a prestigious International Conference on Recent Advances in Algebra (ICRAA ’24) on 10 September 2024. Organised by the Postgraduate and Research Department of Mathematics, this conference brought together esteemed scholars, researchers and students from across our country to discuss significant advancements in the field of Algebra.
The event commenced with Dr B. Meeradevi, Assistant Professor of Mathematics and the conference convener, extending a warm welcome to the gathering. Dr P. Rajaguru, Principal, delivered the Presidential Address, highlighting the importance of academic collaboration in mathematical research. Dr. D.K. Nathan, Head and Associate Professor of Mathematics, Controller of Examinations delivered the Felicitation Address.

The academic proceedings began with Session I featuring Dr. M.R. Pournaki, a renowned professor from the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran. Dr. Pournaki delivered an insightful lecture on “A Key Lemma in Commutative Ring Theory: The Prime Avoidance Lemma”, offering deep insights into the practical applications and theoretical aspects of this area.
Session II resumed with a lecture by Dr. T. Tamizh Chelvam, CSIR Emeritus Scientist and former senior professor of mathematics from Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli. Dr. Chelvam’s topic, “Additive Graphs from Commutative Rings,” captivated the audience with its interdisciplinary approach, blending graph theory with algebraic structures.
Session III continued with Dr. T. Asir, Associate Professor at the Ramanujan School of Mathematical Sciences, Pondicherry University. Dr. Asir’s session focused on “Graph Embedding,” exploring the nuances of this mathematical concept and its relevance in modern algebraic research.

In this International Conference, 34 research scholars presented their research papers before the special guests. More than 200 research scholars and professors from 15 colleges participated in the Conference. The Conference ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. S. Saravanakumar, the Organizing Secretary of the Conference.
