National Library Day was celebrated at Sri S. Ramasamy Naidu Memorial College on 19.08.2024 at New Seminar Hall. The ceremony started with the prayer song. Ms. M.Manju, II M. A Tamil delivered the welcome speech. Dr. P. Rajaguru, Principal delivered the keynote address. Dr. S. Nattar Librarian introduced the Chief Guest Dr. K. Sivasekaran, Librarian, Ayya Nadar Janaki Ammal College, Sivakasi. Dr.Sivasekaran delivered the chief guest address. He explained how reading connects individuals with the society opens new horizons and oriented the students on the need to read books. He explained the effective ways to use library.
Competitions like book review, general knowledge quiz, author introduction, book introduction, comparison of books, quote evaluation, character evaluation were conducted for the students. A large number of students enthusiastically participated in the competitions. Dr.P.Rajaguru, Principal distributed prizes to the winners. Mr. C. Deepak, II B.Sc Zoology proposed vote of thanks and the program ended with the National Anthem.
