PG and Research Centre in History, Sri S.Ramasamy Naidu Memorial College, Sattur celebrated “Jambu Dweep Proclamation: Remembrance of the Great Marudhu Brothers ” on 21.06.2024. Jambudweep Declaration, a strategic and visionary document to liberate India from the Colonial control, was made public on June 16, 1801, by Marudhu Brothers.
The Department commemorated the day by delivering Special Addresses on Freedom Struggle. Dr. R. Revathi, Assistant Professor of History and Dr S. Nagaraj, Assistant Professor of History, disseminated the knowledge of Jambudweep Proclamation. They urged the gathering not to forget the countless freedom fighters from Tamil Nadu, emphasizing that the freedom enjoyed today is the result of their sacrifices and suffering.
