On 26 July, 2024, the PG and Research Department of Commerce successfully conducted an extension activity called “Hands on Training in Accounting and Tally for Higher Secondary Students” for the Kammavar Girls Higher Secondary School in Sattur. The purpose of the program was to ignite young people’s interest and help them understand the concepts of accounting on a deeper level.
This training imparted the Knowledge to the Students about, how to prepare vouchers, make ledgers and to prepare the Final Accounts. This training took place in the Commerce Computer Lab at our college.
The Training commenced with warm welcome address by the Head of the Department, Dr.A.Muthumani, Sri S.Ramasamy Naidu Memorial College. She highlighted the importance of Tally in Accounting and encouraged students to create the ledger and prepare the various vouchers.
Dr.P.Ramalakshmi and Dr.S.Chithira Assistant Professors of Commerce, Sri S.Ramasamy Naidu Memorial College, acted as resource persons. This training included a series of interactive sessions and demonstrations of various procedure of accounting rules like personal a/c, Real a/c and Nominal a/c and how to create the company with use of tally.etc conducted by the resource persons. These activities were tailored to explain complex problems solving in an engaging and comprehensible manner. Students actively participated in hands-on activities, which facilitated a practical understanding of theoretical and practical concepts.
The event concluded with the vote of thanks by Ms. P.Kavitha M.C.A.,B.Ed, Staff- in- charge from Kammavar Higher Secondary School who expressed gratitude towards all the participants, school authorities and guests for their contributions for making the workshop a successful one. Special thanks were extended to the resource persons Dr.P.Ramalakshmi and Dr.S.Chithira for their valuable time and enriching words. Students feedback reflects a balance of positive experiences, constructive suggestions, specific highlights and ideas for enhancing future workshops on tally programme.
This Program enhances Self Confidence among School Students regarding the learning and application of Tally Software for their future needs.
