The Citizen Consumer Club at Sri S. Ramasamy Naidu Memorial College celebrated World Youth Skills Day on 15th July 2024 with great enthusiasm. The event was meticulously organised by Dr. R. Revathi, Coordinator of the club. Dr. V. Alwarnayaki, Assistant Professor of Commerce at SRNMC, served as the resource person for the occasion.

Dr. Alwarnayaki delivered an insightful presentation on the benefits of acquiring various skills alongside academic degrees at a young age. She emphasised the importance of skills such as typewriting, computer proficiency, shorthand, app development and tailoring. Her talk highlighted how these skills not only enhance employability but also provide opportunities for personal growth and entrepreneurial ventures.

Dr. Alwarnayaki also shared the purpose and scope of these skills in today’s competitive job market. She underscored the value of being multi-skilled, which can open numerous career paths and increase adaptability in a rapidly changing economic landscape. The event was a significant step towards encouraging students to broaden their skill sets and prepare for diverse professional challenges.
